Collagen

The most commonly found protein in the human body. Derived from the Greek word “colla” meaning glue, it helps connect joints and tendons, give the body increased elasticity, and form connective tissues, and protects the skin from external factors. Bone marrow and broth, chicken, egg whites, fish, citrus fruit, berries, garlic, leafy greens, soy, beans, and avocado oil are among the collagen-boosting foods. In products, collagen-boosters are commonly found as peptides, chemical peelings, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants (such as vitamins C & E, resveratrol, ferulic acid) and vitamin A derivatives (retinol, retinoid, and retinoic acid).
